Dragons
One of the most famous creatures of legend, Dragons are very similar to the legends spoken of them. They are meat lovers, usually picking up cattle or other large animals for their meals, wild or otherwise. They often live in different habitats, some of which include Water dragons [water or land], mountain dragons, fire dragons [deserts, or active volcanoes], etc... Every dragon is different, and have their own pros and cons.
Dragons mostly keep to themselves, but not all of them are anti social. Some of them have been known to associate themselves with other civilized species, sometimes even living alongside them. Someone who grows close enough to a dragon to consider them irreplaceable have even been known to find themselves in pacts with the dragon. Others, who some dragons find to be useful, or entertaining, will enthrall those who are susceptible to their powers of manipulation.
Dragons often have different personality traits, just like humans. They can be gentle or violent, sultry or lustful, hot tempered or mellow (older dragons are usually the mellow types). If you come across a dragon, do not insult it. They are proud creatures, similar to centaurs. They won't get extremely violent, so long as they're not the malicious type, but don't think you won't walk away without a scratch if you disrespect a kind dragon.
Because Dragons are mystical creatures, they are very adept in the art of magic, more so than the witches and warlocks of the lost nation. Depending on what type of dragon it is, it will have a specific preference of magic, choosing from one of the six major elements for the most part. However, they also know advanced magics, some of which include telepathy, allowing them to communicate mentally in their dragon form. Future sight; seeing possible paths of the future depending on the actions of the present. And transformation; granting them the ability to become any creature they wish (usually human or elf.) Their transformations are never perfect however, almost always having one or two draconic features shown in their transformed states.
When it comes to mating and reproduction, they are like any animal, there is a mating season for all of the different dragons, depending on what type they are. This time of year is when female dragons will lay eggs for males to breahte life into, and create new dragons. However, if a dragon likes a human, and wishes to live with them instead of another dragon, they will ask them in their human form to be their rider, then will prepare the necessary pieces to perform a pact ritual, binding the two forever. When cross breeding with a human, the process works more like that of a human, and the end result being a live birth (not a hatchling). These hybrid creatures are known at Kobolds, and are mostly humanoid, but can transform their bodies to take on draconic features. Due to the mixed bloodlines, they live longer than humans, but not nearly as long as the almost timeless lifespans of pure blooded dragons.
Dragons are mysterious in every way, and follow their own rules, and are therefore unpredictable. Be cautious when dealing with one, you can never know what will happen next.
