Personal information and social status
Name: Eleanor
Race: Half-elf
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Appearance: Ellie and Helliquin
Personality: Whooo boy would a psychologist from the other world have fun with this one! But the lost nation has no therapists that Ellie has met, nor has she truly realised anything is wrong with her, so she simply embraces everything that she is. Her lack of emotions is a match for her partner most days, but unlike him she barely talks. But seperate one from the other or try to talk to her about him and she reveals herself to actually be capable of both a healthy range of emotions and words.
Unlike Harlequin she is not nearly as picky with victims, but that is why they work together, indeed she would more or less be a complete sociopath if it weren't for her personal soul stoned partner. In an effort to please him she tones down the sociopathy and tries to offer what could be construed as kindness, albeit a very direct and no nonsense sort of kindness, but never mistake this kindness or her standards for her genuine feelings, if Harlequin were to ever leave her then so too would these, they are an effort to please her loved one and nothing more.
Beneath the trauma and self perscribed coping methods Ellie is a fairly normal girl.....that plays with poisons. She has a passion for anything she can convert into a weapon, loves to learn about the parts of history her partner either can't or won't tell her, and enjoys watching people (she'll never admit the joy is because she craves to be normal like them though). She'll also never admit that, as much as she claims the niceties are all for Harlequins sake, she has come to be able to care for others. She has just, so far, never opted to do so beyond appeasing her beloved. But one cannot miss the way she'll frequent orphanages in her travels. How if their target has kids she'll take them away with songs and dancing and laughter before the bloodshed starts.
She's a softie deep down but she'll die before admitting it.
Home Realm: Fire
Affiliation: Harlequin
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
History: Most nobles, however caged, are at least given the courtesy of being comfortable in their captivity. But then there are the famillial shames. Byproducts of affairs, runaway brides, bored wives and husbands. Indeed there are probably thousands of children out there with scraps of noble blood without a clue of their greater parentage due to be abandoned by their shamed mothers and fathers to the behest of churches and orphanages across the continent.
Eleanor was exactly this....until she wasn't this.
The illegitimate offspring of a noble wife and a human labourer she was considered a shame by both her mother and her mothers family. But resentful as she might be of the child she could not kill it and instead left it on the doorstep of her lover, or at least, that was the official story. In truth the woman loved her daughter just as fiercly as her lover and for a time continued sneaking off to see them with baby Eleanor none the wiser that mom had a secret double life as a noble.
But inevitably the truth was outed once more by the families spies and they took more permanant measures to stop the dalliance. Eleanor was only a toddler back then and hidden beneath her bed as she watched the men enter and murder her mother and father. They never noticed her beneath the bed and had probably long forgotten that indeed there had been a bastard child to worry about.
But Eleanor never forgot them, and at six years old, she snuck up on one of the men unaware. You may think a six year old is incapable of murder but some glass shards to the knee cap can level any size difference and then all it takes is a quick slash across the neck. From there she studied everything about the man sent to murder her family, found records and money and names that gave her all the info she needed.
But for all her skill, or luck, she was still a child who did not think longterm. When their assassin failed to make contact they sent an investigator to find out the result. Eleanor wasn't expecting visitors and it was easy to simply come in while the child slept and find the decomposing corpses of mother, father, and assassin.
The child was brought back to her extended family, thrown in a cage in the corner of the room like the rabid animal she was, as the adults discussed just what was to be done...and other plans. It would seem her grandparents and their friends had been conspiring to usurp the royalty and that took priority over their granddaughter murdering one assassin.
To this day she still doesn't know who sent the Harlequin on a crash course with her 'family' but it's the one thing that has her convinced maybe fate is a real thing. There he came out of nowhere and quickly cut a bloody swath through the room. More dead bodies, more screams, more blood all seen from somewhere hidden once more.
But this time she called out. Made sure he heard her. Tried to goad her into releasing and killing her. Because now that her parents killers were dead she'd very much like to join mommy and daddy. But instead he released her, asked questions, helped her rinse off the blood and shed the past. She's still not sure how he did it but when Harlequin, left she left with him, her tiny hand fitting snugly into his like it had been meant to be.
Of course, the former twilight kingdom soldier was hardly qualified to help the mess that was Eleanor, but in his own way he saved her. He started calling her Ellie and made her new clothes. He taught her how to defend herself and, when she expressed interest, how to more efficiently end the lives of others. In return she devoted herself to him, she never forgot the horror of her earlier years, but Harlequin gave her a new family and as the days and weeks turned into months and years their relationship became...complicated.
Let's just say Harlequins attempt to have 'the talk' with teenage Ellie ended with them in his bed.
But the girl born to die has a life now. Heir to a worthless noble family she's forged a new life for herself. She's not all there in the head and carries wounds that will last a lifetime. But she lives, and as long as she has Harlequin, she's happy.
Combat potential
Weapons: Poisons: Over time Ellie has has perfected the art of poison into an art that would make any intriguer blush. Perfumes, makeup, clothing, and of course weapons. From the harmless but disorienting Hallucinogenic to the quick and lethal injectable there isn't a poison in existence Ellie hasn't co opted for use as the hellequin. Her weapons, her body, her very presence can be toxic to a person unimmunized if she so chooses to be. Of course, said person has to be a creature of flesh and blood, Harlequin being a doll is never at risk nor is any other magically bound soul, but that's what the acid is for....
Acids: Ellie's attempts to cover her favourit weapons only known weakness, as one doesn't need to be flesh and blood to be corroded, but this is all a very new field for Ellie. Still like everything in her life she's thrown herself into it headfirst. Her arsenal is currently made uo soley of corrosive acids but she's begun experimenting with combining acids and poisons for the most lethal of cocktails.
Twin Daggers: Ellie perfers to avoid combat altogether honestly, and with her collection of poisons does just that most of the time, but sometimes push comes to shove and all other methods have failed so out come the daggers. Made of good steel and poisoned with some of her most deadly toxins Ellie's last line of defense is no less deadly than the rest of her
Bow and Arrows: This is a rather more recent addition to Ellie's arsenal and one she's still working to master. It's not truly a weapon for her though but instead a way to deliver poison to a target while staying out of sight. Smother the entire arrow in hallucigenic so Harlequin can make the kill or smear the head in poison and while the target is busy treating the wound the poison can course through their veins. You get the idea she'd never truly pull out the bow to kill but if it does happen to strike true then all the better.
Armor: performer outfit, nobles dress
Enchanted weapons/accessories:
Poisoners Kit: A simple looking breifcase that hints nothing at its deadlier purpose. Inside is where she keeps all her direct application poisons both deadly and benign. Nausea agents to lure a target into an empty room, clear and odorless pills to drop in ones drink, a kit full of little suprises for anything she might need while 'on the go' rather than premeditated missions in which she would specially prepare things.
Weaknesses: Harlequin: Ellie's life has been complicated, and so it stands to reason, are her weaknesses. Harlequin has been her lover and only friend for as long as she can remember and everything else in the world has largely ceased to matter. Her every breath is made for him and without him she would simply....lose purpose.
Naivete: Ellie is a noble with all the drawbacks and none of the benefits. She has since joining with Harlequin had the chance to expand her horizons but she still, more or less, has the awareness of a child as to how the world works.
Social Cues: Back in the outside world a psychologist might have a field day with this one, blunt to be sure, but also dumb. Ask her to change into her Helliquin costume and off goes the clothing in front of god and everyone! She constantly asks questions with no thought to how they make others feel and just in general lacks the social and common sense that almost anyone has. While already making it impossible to have friends outside of Harlequin (who has somehow learned to tolerate her quirks) it also means for the socially astute she's a pawn waiting to be controlled, combine this with herobsession dedication to Harlequin. Go ahead! Tell her Harlequin is dead and tell her your enemies did it. Easy murder for free my friend...and ruthlessly efficient.
Magical potential
Special/Racial Abilities: Longevity: Halfbreed or not Ellie still possesses the longevity of her mothers family.
Magical Affinity: Fire
Spells Known (0/35sP):
When Harlequin met the child fourteen years ago she was barely literate and, though she was of course aware of and able to wield magic in times of emergency, not able to cast a single actual spell. Of course she is still a fire mage and still capable of tapping into her element should times be truly urgent her spells are rudimentry and almost completely out of her control. Wreaths of fire that spring up to defend her....and char her clothes sort of out of control. So more or less she tends to opt for poisons, acids, and blades when it comes to self defense.
