Appearance: Derek appears as a slim, slightly tanned, black-haired young man with some glaring physical differences. His ears are feline, though still in the same position as a normal human's. His eyes are magenta with slit pupils and he has a catlike tail with a white-tipped tuft at the end. Other than the aforementioned tuft, both tail and ears are covered in dark gray fur.

Weaknesses: Psychosis: Derek suffers from symptoms similar to schizophrenia, mainly hallucinations and hearing voices. How much of it is the Beast's doing and how much is actual sickness is unclear.

Special/Racial Abilities: The Beast: Derek shares his body with a malevolent entity he simply refers to as 'the Beast'. It is the source of much of his magical abilities, and much of the hallucinations he suffers from.
Swordsman: Derek is something of a savant when it comes to swordsmanship, being on par with skilled soldiers despite being mostly self-taught.

Hellfire (5 sP): Derek is capable of conjuring small amounts of magenta-colored flame-like energy as a means of attack. He typically uses this ability to toss apple-sized fireballs at opponents at a distance. The energy is capable of ignoring enchantments and abilities normally able to stop fire.
Hostile Mind (7 sP, passive): Derek's subconscious mind, or perhaps the Beast, automatically lashes out at anyone attempting to directly contact or invade Derek's mind, resulting in a burst of extremely painful psychic feedback for the perceived invader. This affects both benign and harmful spells.
Rapid Healing (3 sP, passive): Derek heals considerably more quickly than normal. This is not regeneration, meaning no regrowing body parts and there's scarring.
Dampen Magic (7 sP, passive): Derek constantly dampens all magic within 10 feet of him. Amateur-level or lower spells 'fizzle out' within this area, higher spells have their effects reduced, and enchantments in this area are negated until the item or person leaves the area. Derek's passive abilities are unaffected by the dampening, but his spells have their costs increased to the next spell tier.
