I floated along the frozen sidewalk, my goo dripping off my shoulder, and onto the sidewalk, like little raindrops, without a care in the world. I really don't even know why I am here, but, to be fair, I never really do know why I'm anywhere, I don't really have any friends, as most people are jerks anyways, nor a family, so I just kinda wonder. It's all I guess I can do, but it's rather fun, so I don't mind much.  Even if I did, I couldn't do much to change that fact. I have no mouth, so I can't really talk to people, even if I wanted to, and a shadow really can't help people, or even...really...get along with them. But, I'm not useless! I can still do things I enjoy, like read, and wander around!  A good title is always a nice read, and I bet the actual book would be even better, if I could actually move the darn book, without having to haunt it! Haunting is hard work anyway, I need to have one of those stupid blue stones around me, which I can't even carry, and then haunt, and yadda yadda yadda. It's just annoying, so, I just stick to the cover.

I started looking around, out of boredom, noticing that the old streets were rather spacious, and devoid of life, like a ghost town, unlike their fiery neighbors whom always seemed to be smiling, and active. Why is this? Is it because it's dark out? I looked up at the sky out of curiosity to make sure I wasn't mistaken. The sky was cloudy, and the sun, or moon, or whatever was out decided to hide behind the clouds, like they were playing a game of hide and seek, one which, I really didn't want to play. It must be because it's dark. That must be it. Well, maybe everyone is in the marketplace? I don't really think much grows here, as I think it's too cold for most plants to grow...but, maybe weapons were being sold, or something? Hmm...Well, I guess I never will know if I don't check! Looks like I'm going on an adventure to the marketplace today.

Where is the marketplace? My eyes started looking around the barren streets for signs, ignoring the small houses on their way, as it really didn't make sense to check them, but at last, after a few minutes of checking, I found nothing... Time to wander aimlessly around, I guess.

The streets of the marketplace were fairly busy. Many of the residents were minding their own business, but for the most part, no one among the crowd paid the shade any mind. Whether it was out of ignorance, or to avoid her, was anyone's guess. But out of the corner of her eye, a slim, tall figure was walking, possibly even gliding through the market, and seemed to be passing through objects as he made his way through the bustling crowd.
