This isn't so much an update rather a complete rehashing of his original profile. I will be submitting this here for approval, and will leave it for the staff members I appoint to review these changes.

Personality: Arin usually has a tendency to be very laid back, a trait he had developed after many years of dealing with the imbalances in his soul. That's not to say that he's without emotion, but growing up alone for most of his life has forced him to develop a tough exterior, and an impulse to protect anything important to him. If someone would threaten him, his surrogate mother, or anyone he would consider a friend, he would get between them without hesitation, without regard for his own safety. Quick to make friends, but even quicker to take down enemies, Arin is equally as hostile as he is peaceful, and knows exactly when to be either one. Despite being a fully grown adult, in this new world, he is as much of a kid at his favorite park; fascinated by the magic and creatures of this world.

History: Arin grew up as an orphan in a random town in the middle of a large city in Pennsylvania, with nothing to claim as his own but a note with strange markings written on it that resembled letters. The "letters", when put together, became his name, whether it really was or not is a different story all on its own.
Some time during his early childhood, Arin discovered that he had the innate ability to control the essence of light and darkness by some unknown force. After several years of practice, he was able to develop this power, being able to control them at will. However, his level of control is still limited. There have been incidents where he is unable to control the darkness within his soul, and it takes over fully. This 'unnatural' phenomenon and unexplained violent wounds on those who pushed him resulted in him being transferred to multiple orphanages, finally landing himself in Washington DC as his final destination, before his "adoption".
A white haired woman, looking to be barely in her mid twenties, showed up at the orphanages doorstep, looking for a "unique" child to take with her to raise as her own. When the children were introduced to her, she took a particular interest in Arin, who was isolating himself from the others. Intrigued, the woman approached him, asking why he was being so distant, and his response only intrigued her more:
"When I get close to people, they get hurt, and then I get sent away."
She felt for Arin, and couldn't bear to see the young boy so lonely. Making her decision, despite the warnings from the head of the orphanage, the woman had decided on Arin to adopt as her son. Papers were signed, and it was official that Arin had a new family, if only one person that he knew of, but that was enough for him.
As Arin grew, so too did control over his dark side, thanks to the surprisingly accurate teachings that the woman, who called herself Aria, had given him. But despite her teachings, his control was still not perfected, and he still grappled for control over his darkness at times. Once he had come of age, Aria had given him her home, and took residence in her bookstore not too far away. Now left alone again, he was able to dwell on his past, and start to question how his surrogate mother knew so much about his 'gift' as she described it.
Halfway into the nineteenth year of his life, he was lost in his thoughts on the way back from his job, and found himself quickly surrounded by thugs in the alley he was crossing through. It was there that he met a hooded young woman who had a gift of her own. She could create and control a blue flame in the palm of her hand. The thugs were quickly dealt with, but Arin still had questions, and this woman may just give him the answers that Aria was being so cryptic about. After a long discussion, this girl agreed to use his home as her own, seeing as she had none. Arin realized then that she was an elf, who was searching for a gateway to another world; where all mythical creatures were real.
After growing close to the elf, who had introduced herself as "Luna," their quick friendship soon developed into an intimate, loving relationship, and Arin was growing more and more intrigued by this world of magic and monsters, asking Luna anything he could think of that she could tell him about the world. During his time not qorking for a living, they spent their time trying to figure out a way to get Luna back to their home world. He also wished to go with her, wanting to escape the corrupt human world he grew up in and live with the woman he loved peacefully, in a more simpler world.
During their trip to Aria's bookstore, it was revealed to them that the white haired woman, who was gradually 'appearing' to grow older as Arin aged since his adoption, was in fact a several thousand year old witch, and was using magic to keep him and other 'normal' people from growing suspicious of her. She then explained to Arin that she knew much about Luna's kind and where she came from, also revealing Arin's true past. It then that Arin realized that he had blood ties to the royal bloodline, a member of the family rumored to have been lost during the transition between realms, and stranded in the human realm. Arin was heir to the throne of a once great kingdom that had been brought to ruin; the twilight kingdom of Terra Mystica.
After the initial shock, and some weeks of preparation, they set out for Florida, to travel to the bermuda triangle. This is where Aria told them the gateway to the lost nation was hidden, guarded by intense weather patterns and a distortion field that jammed communications. With Aria's help, they had made it past the gatewayn, and made their way to the port of Wheat town, where they are currently residing. Both Arin and Luna have been living together for almost a month now. To compensate for the difference in age span between the two, Luna has suggested that they look for a dragon that would be willing to grant Arin the honor of being its rider. They are currently planning that expedition now, but there was one thing that Arin wanted to do first. He explained to Luna that he wanted to go to the ruins of his home kingdom, to see the world where he truly came from. Weapons: Standard wooden shortbow with a 50 arrow quiver (currently empty). It's farthest range is 50 feet with an angled shot, and 20 feet aiming straight agead
Armor: A mythril scale mail vestbeneath his overcoat, lined by the shirt on his back, to prevent any scratching from the armor. This armor vest has been modified to have mythril chain mail sleeves for arm protection, which also are lined by his shirt. This armor has been enchanted by Aria to repair itself over time, any damage sustained in battle will be mended a day later.

Gladium Ordinis- The sword of Order A sword forged by the local blacksmith of Wheat Town, but infused with a spell by Aria, Arin's surrogate mother. This sword is able to sense the evil within an individual's soul, and will emanate a faint yellow glow in the hand guard in response to evil intent (this does not include predatory behavior or those who do evil deeds because they strongly believe them to be for good causes.. Aside from that, it is an average sword that has to be regularly taken care of and sharpened.
Weaknesses: Arin is impulsive, quick to interfere when someone is wronged. This may be due to his upbringing, as he was often bullied as a child, which resulted in his 'violent nature' that got him transferred so often. Arin also can be short sighted when like this, not always willing to listen to reason when he's defending someone who was wronged in his eyes, at least until it's been proven otherwise. Arin also is unable to distinguish friend from foe while in a dark-overwhelmed state, as he is not fully in control of his darkness yet.

However, if exposed to one of the two elements for too long, either by external or internal sources, Arin't soul becomes imbalanced, and his body is only able to channel one element. His personality and behavior also change dependent on the magic that is fueling him. Light magic often has no real change in his behavior, but he is more patient, and takes time with his actions. His magic focuses solely on defense in this state. He is more durable against offensive magic and cost less mana to cast his spells. When dark magic overwhelms his body and mind, he becomes ruthless, acting solely on impulse and wanting nothing more than to fight and kill anything that gets in his way. His magic focuses solely on offensive spells while in this state. But while powerful; his current spells increasing by one category in strength, they expend far more mana to cast than any of his spells (even in light takeover state). The form will last either until a fight is won, there are no more targets to attack, or the mana in the area has been exhausted. Takeover states exhaust 7sP per turn while active.

Twilight barrier (3sP): Arin can cast large lens-like shields from his hands. These barriers are 4 feet in diameter with a circular shape, when cast with one hand. These individual shields are fairly useful at deflecting average strength blows, but cannot handle much abuse from a monstrous attack from a heavy weapon or strikes against a much larger and stronger beast, such as a minotaur or an ogre. If he places his hands together, one overlapping the other, the shield will double in size and strength, able to at least keep himself safe from a direct assault from said larger creatures, but still pales in comparison to the devastation that a monstrous creature such as a dragon. While balanced, this shield does well against both magic and physical attacks. When in light takeover state, the barrier is more effective against physical attacks, but lacks against magical attacks. While in dark takeover state, it is the opposite, excelling against magical attacks, but failing against anything but weak physical attacks.
Twilight Cannon(3sP): Arin can cast a ball of magic at a single target, roughly the size of a volley ball. There is no splash damage, only impact damage, but the size of the ball determines the amount of damage and the speed of the attack. While balanced, Arin can cast 3 of these cannonballs per post at 10 Mph. While in light takeover state, the magic blasts shrink down to the size of softballs. They are weaker in power, but can fire 10 per post at 20 Mph and cost less mana to cast. While in dark takeover state, the blast doubles in size to practically that of a beach ball. Their speed hasn't changed, but they deal 3 times as much damage, and cost twice as much mana to cast.
Twilight Boost - Fighting Spirit (5sP): Arin can channel mana into his body, fusing it with his muscle fibers and increasing their physical performance. This spell allows Arin to fight hand to hand against even creatures much stronger than him, and move twice his physical speed limit. He cannot cast spells while this boost is active, and mana is expended gradually from the environment while this remains active. While in light overtake state, his speed is tripled, but his physical boost is cut by half; he also expends less mana while using this boost. While in Dark overtake state, his speed isn't changed, but his attacks are twice as powerful.
Twilight Sphere of protection (5sP): Arin can conjure a silver sphere of magic around his body in a 5 foot radius. It does fairly well against strong physical and magical attacks, but what it excels at are indirect tactics. Anyone within the area of effect are protected from spells of suggestion, possession, and wandering spirits are not allowed past the barrier's dome.
Light takeover - Flight (3sP): Arin's back has several tendril-like wisps trailing behind him from the excess light mana pouring from his body while in light takeover form. By channeling the mana to link together, these tendrils transform into makeshift wings. These wings can allow for basic flight for short distances, before the mana starts to break apart, and needs to be recast. Maximum distance is 500 feet while airborne in any direction, and Arin can fly at 30 Mph.
Dark Takeover - Black matter (5sP): Black mass resembling a scarf trails behind Arin while in dark overtake form, due to the excess dark mana flowing through his body. Arin can use this mass in a number of ways; from an extra set of 'limbs' to attack and block with, to grappling hooks to assist with scaling walls at incredible speeds. This is mana that is already channeled through Arin, so he already has control over it. But more mana is drained from the area as he remains in this form.

This ability is slow to use, but the confusion of the victim often times than not gives him enough time to trap them, giving them no escape from his wrath. Only those able to use dark magic are able to escape or enter the dome.
