New Character profile template.
Below is the new format for creating characters in the lost nation. Please follow this guideline when making a character, or your character won't be officially reviewed until then. The template will be available at the bottom of this post. Adopted characters can ignore this template, as they have been grandfathered in, but a list of spells and equipment will have to be provided to fit the rules of gameplay.
Personal information and social status
Name: Self explanatory; what is the character's name, and/or what is their alias.
Race: There are many species on Terra Mystica, what is the RPC supposed to be?
Age: How old is your character, and how old might they appear (if an ageless race)
Gender: Needs no explanation here.
Appearance: While we promote the use of images for characters, we do request you have at least 3 sentences minimum for an extra description for pictures, or a 5 sentence minimum for a profile with no picture added.
Personality: Give at least 5 sentences describing how they act normally, and how they act around people.
Home Realm: Is the character born and raised from TLN (Native), or did they wind up here from the human realm (Outsider)?
Affiliation: With the threat of war on the horizon, your character has a choice to make. Will they side with one of the two kingdoms (Fire/Ice), try and prevent the war and bring peace (Peacekeeper), or simply stay neutral to the fight and avoid conflict, letting the two kingdoms destroy themselves from years of conflict (None). The character could also have an affiliation not tied to the war, and that can be approved, so long as a staff member has approved of this.
Alignment: This category follows the same structure as most D&D formats. Characters can fall under any combination of both Chaotic/Pure/Lawful and Good/Neutral/Evil, and can be listed in the profile sheet fully typed or with a 1-2 letter descriptor (Neutral Examples: CN, LN, N).
History: What is the character's origin? You need a minimum of 10 sentences for this section.
Combat potential
Weapons: Characters can have a total of 5 weapons altogether, as impractical as that may seem. Thrown items and arrows must have a number of the total on the RPC's person. It's up to the player to keep track of this number, and will be monitored additionally by staff if deemed necessary.
Armor: What kind of armor or shields does the character have in their possession? These armors can be enchanted if desired, but please be reasonable with the enchantments available for the armor.
Enchanted weapons/accessories: This is a sub-section for the weapons, as well as a separate section. Characters can have a total of 3 enchanted weapons (taking up 3 standard weapon slots), and 3 enchanted accessories. These trinkets aren't all powerful, and only give minor boosts that can give players the edge in combat or in real life, depending on the enchantment. These enchanted items also expend mana, just like casting a spell, but due to the item already being enchanted, does not have any sP value.
Weaknesses: Every character has to have some kind of flaw. Each character can have one single major flaw, or two separate minor flaws. This is mandatory for character balancing, and any flaws that appear to be beneficial will be denied. This could range from personality quirks, to physical injuries or flaws in the body, and players are encouraged to be creative with their RPC's flaws.
Magical potential
Special/Racial abilities: There may be special qualities about your character that are unique to him/her or his/her species. You can have up to 2 of them here, and you can list anything you want, within reason.
Magical Affinity: This lists all of the elements that your character will have in his or her spell list. If any of your spells has an element, list it here (arcane and black magic can be listed as affinities as well, but black magic is only available to evil aligned characters for primary affinity, and chaotic neutral characters as desperation attacks. Adverse effects of black magic apply throughout the entire plot arc that the character will be participating in, but reset once a new thread is made(unless the player chooses to make that a permanent feature or change).
Spells Known (_/35sP): This section is where all spells for the character will be listed. Be descriptive of what the spell does, what element the spell focuses on, and what level of spell it is. Spells known by the character are available in a point value system, where each spell increases the sP total dependent on the level of spell known, with a maximum of 35 points available for one character. The maximum sP will become 55 if the character is a magical creature with an internal magical source, but this will be removed if too many people abuse this fact. There are some that just have more magical talent than others, this extra 20sP is to signify that. Don't try and beat the system just because you want more spells for all of your characters. Points for spell levels are as follows: Novice spells = 1sP, Amateur spells = 3sP, Advanced spells = 5sP, Master spells = 7sP. Please see the Magic category in the Rules and RP Themes section.
Roleplay Example: [FIRST TIME PLAYERS] Show us how your skills are at roleplaying and storytelling. Give us at least 8-10 sentences worth of your RP dialogue. This section is only required if this is your first character AND if you haven't participated in a roleplay yet on this forum.
