Naga
There are different types of Naga subtypes, here are the most common types found on the mainland:
Echidna
A higher race of naga. Like their cousins, echidna have the upper body of a human and the lower body of a snake. Their extraordinarily powerful magic sets them apart from other naga races. Their personalities vary between individuals, but the one common factor is their passion for power.
Very few in number, they make their homes in the deepest parts of perilous dungeons and seldom appear in the outside world. On the assumption that anyone powerful enough to reach their lair is worth claiming, echidna scatter treasure about their home dungeon to lure humans toward the center.
With their powerful magic, an echidna will disquise themselves as a human and spread rumors about the riches to be found in their home. When a desirable mate makes their way to the core of the dungeon, the echidna will try to seduce them. If they are particularly taken by the human, they may decide to keep them. When their new consort emerges from the dungeon, they will have a heroic tale to tell. But the story will be false, and the human by their side will be the echidna.
Echidna possess a power unique among monsters. The first born child will be of the same kind as it's parent. However, the later children will be of various types, appearances, and personalities, seemingly at random. Though it has not been confirmed, scholars believe this is where many monster races came from. This ability is why the echidnas are known as the Mother race of Monsters. They seek out superior mates so their monstrous children have superior abilities.
