Harpies
There are many different types of harpy, and each has a different type of lifestyle and disposition. Mostly a female race, the constant cross breeding between humans and harpies has resulted in some male specimens.
Appearance-wise, harpies are usually fairly beautiful to look at, but some researchers have reported seeing some of a more grotesque variety, being non appealing to both species.
Grotesque Harpy
These are harpies that have gone through a gruesome mutation during pregnancy, most likely from a curse casted by a mage. these harpies have many different appearances, but are always in a grotesque manner, hence their name.
Because they are born of many different types of harpies, or of human females, the personality of grotesque harpies are always different, often never the same as another of its kind. They are often times living in flocks, since they're shunned by other races because of their appearances. Because of this, they rarely breed outside of their own kind.
Grotesque harpies are a minority race, and are few in number, if seen by one, it is not a good sign for the witness, in that they will most likely be killed and eaten out of their anger towards other races. They aren't picky about who or what they feed on, so long as they have a source of nutrition.
