Harpies
There are many different types of harpy, and each has a different type of lifestyle and disposition. Mostly a female race, the constant cross breeding between humans and harpies has resulted in some male specimens.
Appearance-wise, harpies are usually fairly beautiful to look at, but some researchers have reported seeing some of a more grotesque variety, being non appealing to both species.
Avians
Equally as rare as male harpies, Avians are special mutations of harpies, having grown wings on the backs of their bodies that are just as functional as the human arms that grow from their shoulders. Due to their appearance, many mistake these creatures for being angels. Some may play off of this fact, either for good reasons or for bad. But this is merely a facade, merely to gain the praise and attention of many and the many offerings that worshippers may give them, as good graces to get into 'heaven' when they die.
Despite a few avians playing off of their physical appearance, some will simply be who they want to be, living in societies of harpies and humans alike to simply make a place for themselves in the world. These honest avians are very kind natured at heart, but protective of their community, and will be some of the first to step in and protect their friends and family if provoked. Like Crow Tengu, they possess powerful magic, but it focuses solely on wind-based magics.
