Harpies
There are many different types of harpy, and each has a different type of lifestyle and disposition. Mostly a female race, the constant cross breeding between humans and harpies has resulted in some male specimens.
Appearance-wise, harpies are usually fairly beautiful to look at, but some researchers have reported seeing some of a more grotesque variety, being non appealing to both species.
Black harpy
A race of harpy with jet black wings, they are said to be the most intelligent variety. More vicious than normal harpies, they are known to swoop down on passing humans and rob them of food and valuables.
Unlike the other harpy races, this kind is known to bring desirable men back to their nests even outside of mating season. Furthermore, while most harpies release their mates once mating season is over, black harpies "marry" them. The "husband" helps take care of the other harpy children as they grow up, only to help make more later. Normally, this isn't a bad thing, as the harpy will hunt and provide for the entire nest, but this will sometimes cause the male to develop a case of cabin fever, or stockholm syndrome, depending on the mentality of the individual, and the end result could end poorly for either the harpy, or the male in question.
Black harpies have a strong sense of community. They are extremely protective of their "husbands" and of others of her kind. If one is attacked, the rest will retaliate as a group.
