Hey guys,
as you might have noticed with there being four active players atm if I got that correct (if not blame Roseline because she dragged me here ), I'm the new girl. Hi. *waves awkwardly and hands out virtual cookies*
So I figured I'd just say hello and maybe kick off a discussion on what I could or should or must play . I only have a scarce overview what this rpg is about as of yet (I've read all the threads in the Newcomer section and continue on to read Roseline's character app fully next and then we'll see. I'm a sucker for research so chances are I've devoured a lot more of your lore texts at the point where you read this text.
I'd like to play a sort of second in command or maybe close servant-/bodyguard-kinda guy. Probably. I don't mind playing a leadership type per se but I prefer to know the world a lot better than I do right now before I do something like that. And I've found that playing a royal-pain-in-the-ass type of sassy butler or a solemn-but-sarcastic kind of officer within a larger army can be just as much if not more fun for me as playing the big shot who gets to do all the cool stuff. There's usually (smaller, but probably more hilarious) cool stuff lying around that the main hero doesn't even get to pick up because he's busy saving the world or just the day. So yeah, that's my ideal niche, if that makes any sense.
Whilst not being super excited about playing the top notch superman kinda person, I've found though that being close to them can really pay off storyline-wise. You can have lots of interaction with them as well as everyone they pass by on their quests and you are kind of IN those quests or maybe even cause some of them by just being that dumb or unlucky or brilliant, depending on your character.
As I understand it, Roseline is on the verge of slowly conquering the world. Now I wouldn't at all mind joining her in this, but I don't mind opposing her either or just you know, being a trusted servant of a close ally of hers or something.
So now it kinda depends on where you guys can use me, what storylines you are actively playing right now. I've seen that there are multiple possible storylines but it won't do me much good to go treasure hunting all on my lonesome somewhere. So where is people and what do these people do and who needs or at least would not mind some assistance?
For now, I have a few character concept ideas still swirling around in my brain. The most dominant would be a young man from humble or like middle class origins (at best) who is proving to himself or a relative or SOMEONE that he is worth something by working his ass off and being as awesome as he possibly can (knowing my usual characters, it won't be all that easy), trying to work his way up in the world or to make something of himself or you know, the usual rags-to-riches-storyline, maybe with a few twists, who knows. He probably has a big fat burn on his face (because hello, dramatic backstories and personal demons and so on) and since I've called him a "he" you've probably guessed already that I play guys a tad more often than I play girls. Which doesn't mean I can't do either, it's just.... I kinda do. It happens. I don't know why! DON'T ASK ME WHY!
Thanks for reading all of this, I'll shut up now .
